A pregnancy belly cast is a plaster casting made
of an expectant mom's beautiful pregnant belly. A one of a kind
cast is best done between the 34th and 38th week of pregnancy.
The mold is usually done over the belly including the breasts
and/or hands, but can be adjusted for more or less coverage to
suit client. This process usually takes around ½ hour to 50 min.
to complete. The studio sitting is completely private and a
friend or relative to bring along is encouraged – especially if
you would like a photo documentation.

Non-toxic belly
lubricant is applied to skin as mom relaxes in a chair. If mom
prefers to wear a bra, this can be covered with cellophane.
Layers are applied until a strong cast results. Within the hour
the cast will be hardened and removed, mom can clean up and
ready to go.
Then the studio work
will begin. Cast then will be treated with an additional
smoothing layer of casting plaster and gesso. The last magical
step is the artwork which can be tailored to your taste. It can
be one color, antiqued, or a custom paint design to fit your
nursery or display area.
Final stage is the
resin coating which gives the artwork a ceramic look.
